QUICKIE WEDDING

How to Pull Off the QUICKIE Wedding!!!

Do you need to get married fast or are you just so in love you can’t bear to be apart for another moment?  Whatever the reason here are a few tips to help you pull off your quickie wedding!

Re-consider the venue:

Churches usually require advanced notice for use of their space. Civil ceremonies on the other hand can be arranged in less than a week, in most cases. Civil ceremonies are well known for being the fastest marriage option, as arrangements for one can be made in a week’s time.

Hold a quickie reception:

There is no time for catering and head counts. Instead, choose an elegant restaurant that you know and love, one that accepts reservations for large groups. If you pick a restaurant that already has great décor, then you’ll have one less thing to worry about. If it doesn’t, pick up lots of floating candles and spread flower petals down the center of the table to add a reception-like feel to the dinner. Order great wine for the toast, and encourage guests to order plenty of specialty drinks during dinner and to liven up the party.

Use Technology:

The Internet is your friend. Use it to locate possible sites at which to hold your ceremony. You won’t have time to mail invitations for a quickie wedding, but you’ll have to invite guests somehow. Online invitations can be personalized and elegant like any paper wedding invitation, but your guests will receive their invitations in their inboxes literally seconds after you send the email. Just because this marriage is happening fast, doesn’t mean you don’t get gifts. Many retailers across the country offer registry services online. You can browse the e-store without having to drive from store to store. The best par t is, your guests can buy you gifts online and have them mailed to your house. This is perfect for invitees who won’t be able to make it to the store of your choice prior to the ceremony. You can have a friend call up your guest list and inform the people about your registry, or you can let them know yourself if they ask you.

Quick is still festive:

Since you are saving so much money in other places, splurge a little on flowers. Call up a florist last minute and find out if he can make you a beautiful bouquet and maybe a few arrangements to put on the table during the after-ceremony dinner. Bright flowers or unusual arrangements can add lots of flair for not little money.

Another way to make the event more festive is to invite as many people as you know. Not all of them will be able to make it, so invite more than you want to have present. The more the merrier, right?

Nothing says “married” like a wedding cake. Find a bakery that can whip up a simple 2 or 3-tiered white cake in a few days and serve it at the restaurant for dessert.

Ride to your ceremony site and the reception dinner in high style. Rent a vintage Rolls Royce, a stretch Hummer or go with the classic, a white limousine.

Photos:

Make this ceremony memorable. Buy or rent a video camera and have trusted friends or relatives take turns recording the day’s events. The day before the ceremony, go to the grocery store and buy enough disposable cameras for everyone. Have all the attendees take plenty of pictures. Gather them up at the end of the dinner and drop them off later at a professional photo store and have the good ones cropped and enlarged as necessary. No one will be able to tell they weren’t professional after a few good alterations.
